The 96-year-old monarch died at Balmoral, her home in Scotland, on Thursday night and overnight family members rushed to Balmoral after doctors said they were worried about her health of the Queen.
Prince Charles – now King Charles III – his wife Camilla and Princess Anne were already in Scotland when doctors first raised concerns about the Queen's health.
Upon hearing of Queen Elizabeth's death, a tense Kate Middleton was pictured leaving Windsor alone to pick up children Louis, Charlotte and George from school.

For now at least, the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, as she is now known, will remain in England while her husband Prince William will be in Scotland.
As for Meghan Markle, the Sussexes they earlier said they would travel to Scotland together following news of the Queen's deteriorating health. But the BBC's royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell gave a reason for the apparent last-minute change of plans, saying on-air: 'She might not have been greeted terribly warmly, to be perfectly honest about that.'
