Forty-four complaints of traffic violations were made by the Paphos Police on Saturday night, with more than half of them related to driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Paphos Police Director Nikos Tsapis, members of the ADF Paphos, carried out a coordinated operation on Saturday night to prevent traffic violations.

In the context of the operation were reported 44 drivers.

Of the 44 traffic complaints, Mr. Tsapis said, 26 were related to driving under the influence of alcohol, while one driver was found to be driving under the influence of drugs. Even the driver who was driving under the influence of drugs was driving with a student driver's license. The rest of the complaints concerned minor traffic violations.

Paphos Police operations to prevent traffic violations are expected to continue at a later stage.
