With an annual increase of 52% in the General Index, the CSE bids farewell in 2023

The Stock Exchange closes 2023 with small gains, with the General Index registering an annual return of 52%.

In the last session for the year, the General Index closed at 136, 01 points, showing a small increase, at a rate of 0.17%. The FTSE/CySE 20 Index rose 0.16% to close at 82.57 points. The daily turnover amounted to €319,696.

On a weekly basis, the CSE recorded losses of 0.24%, while on an annual basis, the Cypriot money market showed a rise of 52%. This is the third consecutive annual increase for the General Index.

All individual stock market indices posted gains. The Investment Companies sector showed the biggest increase with 2.08%. It was followed by Hotels with 1.44%, the Alternative Market with 0.72% and the Main Market with 0.21%.

The Bank's securities attracted the most investment interest Cyprus with €91,045 (down 0.89% – closing price €3.35). The shares of Logicom Public followed with €75,488 (up 1.34% – closing price €3.02), Blus Island PLC with €57,971 (down 0.60% – closing price €0.82), Salamis Tours Holdings with €24,380 (up 0.57% – closing price €3.50) and of Hellenic Bank with €23,807 (down 0.89% – closing price €2.23).

Of the shares traded, 11 moved up, 6 down and 9 remained unchanged. The number of transactions amounted to 180.
