A river of people flooded the center of Athens on Friday night in favor of 24-year-old Georgia and slogans against gender-based violence, rape and patriarchy.
With banners reading “My sister, I believe in you”, but also slogans such as “nothing pink at rapist parties” and “the rich are covered up by the system”, many people responded to the call of feminist, and not only, organizations for a large, colorful protest.
The gathering took place in the shadow of the tragic revelations once again, through the complaints and public interventions of the courageous 24-year-old girl, who broke the fear and reported her gang rape at a party in a hotel in Thessaloniki.
The participants in the mobilization express their support and solidarity in Georgia, give and receive strength from its attitude, while declaring next to all the victims of gender-based violence, rape and sexual abuse / exploitation.
“We stand in solidarity with all the victims of the rape ring and we will be here to fight to the end so that no other sister is found in the same position and the perpetrators are punished,” he said, among other things, calling for today's rally.
A massive and dynamic gathering took place in Thessaloniki, the city that is at the center of the latest horrific developments.
