To the extent of quarantine on their return to the occupied areas from the free areas where they work, it seems that the Turkish Cypriot workers have returned from today.
The website Kypris postasi reports that Turkish Cypriot workers in the free areas crossed the roadblock of Agios Dometios in the morning to come to work, but will still be cut off from their families, since on their return they will not go home. but they will be quarantined in places designated by the “government”.
The website hosts statements by some of them who express complaints because the same regime does not apply to them as to the employees in Pyla, Bases and Pergamon, that is, to pass through the roadblocks with a negative PCR every 72 hours.
They also complain that every time they consult with “government” officials they are given a date, which changes the next day.
It is noted that on Monday, the workers in the free areas, had held a protest march with intensity and small episodes outside the “parliament” in the occupied areas. They requested crossings with negative PCR every 72 hours while the committee of epidemiologists of the “Ministry of Health” decided the same night to extend the restrictive measures until January 15 and mandatory quarantine on return for those who pass through the free areas and return to the occupied areas.
