The appeal of the Turkish President, Tayip Erdoganfor recognition of the pseudo-state at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2022 is a historic call and “we will continue to repeat and follow this call without hesitation,” said Turkey's new “ambassador” to the occupied territories, Yasin Ekrem Serim who yesterday afternoon presented his credentials to Ersin Tatar as the 18th “ambassador” of Turkey to the pseudo-state.
As reported in the occupied territories, Mr. Serim, addressing the Turkish leader, said that as someone who lived and was educated in the pseudo-state for a certain period of his life, “you can have no doubt that I will work in the knowledge of the duty given to me it was also assigned with an awareness of the responsibility I am assuming”.
He added that he will work ceaselessly for the rights and interests of the pseudo-state, such as “direct contact, direct flights and direct trade”, for what the Turkish people, who have been oppressed until now, are entitled to and will continue to this path with determination. “Be assured that I will work with diligence and effort to help you achieve a bright future in whatever field you pursue,” he said.
Turkey, he continued, is and will continue to be by his side. pseudo-states in every way, saying that Turkish Cypriots live safely “under the roof of the Turkish Cypriots, under the shadow of their own flag”.
For his part, Mr. Tatar said that the guarantor country, the Republic of Turkey, which is the largest and most powerful country in this region, protects the rights and “laws” of the “tdvk” in the air, the land and the sea, recalling that in his recent speech to the occupied territories on July 20, the Turkish President called the pseudo-state an “eyesore”. Turkey, he said, is fighting for the well-being and happiness of the Turkish Cypriot “people”.
Mr. Tatar spoke of allegedly unjust “embargo, isolation and restrictions” on the development of the pseudo-state and the Turkish Cypriots. “Despite these difficulties, we, as Turkish Cypriots, have reached a level. With the support of the Republic of Turkey, it is one of our greatest tasks and responsibilities to strengthen the structure here, increase prosperity and peace, and offer future generations the life they deserve,” he said. “Together with you, we will provide important services for the development and advancement of tdvc and we will achieve this”, he added.
Mr. Serim attended the ceremony with his wife and their three children. Tahsin Ertugruloglou was also present.
