The official announcement of the sponsorship plan for upgrading leisure centers and for combining the image presented today with taverns and restaurants was made yesterday by the Ministry of Tourism, with the official announcement of the Sponsorship Plan for Upgrading Traditional Catering Areas Taste Cyprus Agreement.

The total budget that will be allocated within the framework of the first announcement of the plan for 2022 amounts to € 4,000,000 and applications will be accepted until 30/11/2022 or until the available budget is exhausted, whichever comes first. In addition to this announcement for 2022, an announcement is planned for 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

Mountain-Rural Premium

As “F” wrote again, the plan premiums the upgrades in mountainous and rural areas since the percentage of the grant is increased for the specific areas. It has a nationwide scope, although as mentioned the amount of the grant varies depending on the geographical area in which the beneficiary operates, but with a maximum grant amount of € 200,000. Beneficiaries are also Restaurant or Tavern Leisure Centers that operate within hotels and other tourist accommodation, while potential beneficiaries for upgrading or setting up shops selling traditional food products are businessmen, natural or legal persons, who operate their businesses and hold a store license from the competent local authority or point of sale of products of a licensed and visitable plant for the production of traditional food products.
