Which team has the most in this category… and who are next
The Cypriot championship is in its final stretch, with the next five matches being the ones that will decide which team will cut the thread first, but also those that will get the rest of the European tickets. It is therefore natural for our clubs to hope to 'get out' the remaining games with as few competitive problems as possible. After all, it is a given that at this moment… every football player is judged as valuable.
Whether injuries will occur is certainly something we cannot predict, however what deserves special mention is that a total of 13 players competing in the first group are on the yellow card limit.
Starting off from the pioneer Aris, it is noted that in the second phase of the championship, Kakorin, Iago, Soke and Struski received two cards each. The three following teams have just one player, with Susic, Tomovic and Kvinda being the only ones on the threshold from APOEL, AEK and Paphos respectively. Apollonas has the most in this category, as two yellow cards saw Va, Hambos, Warda, Kol and Donio. Regarding the sixth and indifferent Omonia, only Kakoullis is on the said list.
We are essentially talking about a dozen… plus one footballers, who in case they receive another yellow card in the remaining games then they will lose one of the last four matches of this year's “marathon”.
