< b>A yellow warning for localized showers and isolated thunderstorms has been issued today by the Met Office.
It says the warning will be in effect from 11:00am until 6:00pm today, Monday.
Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect the area.
The intensity of the rain is likely to vary between 35-50 millimeters per hour.

According to the Meteorological Service, today, initially, the weather in several areas will be mainly clear, although mainly in the west and north, increased clouds are expected to give local rain or even a storm. The weather will soon become partly cloudy and partly cloudy, and local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected. In the higher mountains, snow or sleet will fall. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, initially light 3 Beaufort, gradually light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally, on the south and west coasts in the afternoon, to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough to become rough in the afternoon. The temperature will rise to around 17 degrees in the interior, on the west and north coasts, around 19 on the rest of the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, locally increased clouds are expected to initially give local and later isolated rains or storms, mainly in the west and north, while snow will fall in the higher mountains. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest light 3 and locally to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be very rough. The temperature will drop to around 4 degrees in the interior, around 6 on the east and southeast coasts, around 9 on the rest of the coast and around minus 1 degrees in the higher mountains where frost will form locally.
On Tuesday. isolated rains are expected mainly in the mountains and north. Local rain, isolated storms and snow in the higher mountains are expected on Wednesday. On Thursday the weather will be mostly clear.
