Yellow warning for storms in Cyprus – When does the weather change?

On Sunday, there will initially be increased clouds which are expected to give isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the west and north, says the Department of Meteorology.

On Tuesday, the weather will be mostly clear.  The temperature will rise gradually to fluctuate slightly above the average climatic values. Low pressure affects the region.

Detailed forecast:

Tonight, the weather will be mostly cloudy and isolated rain is expected, while in the west, in the north and mountains, local rain or even an isolated storm is expected. On the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or even snow is expected. Winds will be mainly west to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be a bit rough. The temperature will drop to around 9 degrees in the interior, around 11 on the coasts and around 2 degrees in the higher mountains, where locally frost is expected to form.

Tomorrow, initially there will be increased cloud which is expected to give isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the west and north. Soon the weather will become mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated storms are expected, while on the highest peaks of Troodos it is expected to snow. In a storm, it is very likely that hail will fall, while the local phenomena may be intense. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and passing south coasts to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become slightly rough to rough, except for the eastern coasts where it will remain calm to slightly rough. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees in the interior, the eastern and south-eastern coasts, around 17 on the rest of the coasts and around 7 degrees in the higher mountains.

In the evening, the weather will be temporarily mostly cloudy and isolated showers are expected which will soon be confined to the northern and eastern coasts. Winds will be mainly northwest to north, light 3 and initially west to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough in the east and south and up to rough on the rest of the coast.
