The government's amendments to the 2024 State Budget have been accepted by the Parliamentary Finance Committee, according to Committee Chairman Chrys Pantelidis.
In statements to the KYPE, after the closed session of the Committee, which took place on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Pantelidis said that the Committee, three days before the three-day plenary session of the Parliament for the discussion of the state budgets, “examined the latest government amendments on of the state budget for 2024 and finalized its position on these amendments”.
“These amendments have been accepted, with the exception of one specific amendment for which a relevant amendment will be made by all parties and it's more about wording and not something substantial,” he added.
In addition, Mr. Pantelidis said that “the report of the Finance Committee on the State Budget of 2024 was approved, which will be presented by the President of the Committee Christiana Erotokritou before the Plenary”.
Then, according to Mr. Pantelidis, there was a review and study of the amendments proposed by the parliamentary parties and other parliamentary parties to the State Budget of 2024 and “these amendments have been grouped, depending on which parties table the amendments to facilitate the Plenary during the discussion and voting of the amendments”.
“For these amendments each party will be positioned during the voting in the Plenary”, he said and added that “there is an amendment submitted by all the parties , while there are amendments tabled by 6 parties, by 5 parties and others.
The governmental amendments to the 2024 budget and the Medium-term Fiscal Framework 2024-26 tabled by the Ministry of Finance, concern amounts amounting to €64,078,364 for 2024 and €29,446,619 for 2025. For 2026 there is a reduction of €1,642,381.
