Members of the Limassol Police Department, as part of their patrols, located around 9.50 last night on Agias Fylaxeos Street, a car in which two people were riding.
The members of the Police, using lighthouses and a siren, signaled to the driver to stop for control. The driver of the specific vehicle, moved at reverse speed, entered a lane and crashed into a sidewalk.
At the same time, the co-driver was seen throwing an object out of the vehicle window, after which the vehicle collided with a parked car and came to a standstill.
OPE members approached the vehicle and both the driver and co-driver, aged 26 and 27 respectively, told police they were positive in the corona and remained inside the vehicle.
During the subsequent inspection, it was found that the object thrown out of the car was a package containing hemp weighing approximately 27 grams. The driver also handed over to the police cannabis weighing 4 grams in his possession as well as a sum of € 3,190.
The above were arrested for a self-inflicted crime while members of YKAN and the Limassol Traffic Police were called to the scene for further investigation.
It should be noted that, from an audit carried out through the results management team of the Ministry of Health, it was found that the 27-year-old was diagnosed positive in the coronary art on 9/9/2021 and the 26-year-old on 10/9/2021.
The two arrested were released from detention due to their positivity in the coronation and will be summoned at a later stage.
