Annual decline of 3.2% in total sales of petroleum products in March

<p>The total sales of petroleum products in Cyprus showed a 3.2% year-on-year decrease in March 2024, which amounted to 108,200 tons.</p>
<p>According to data from the Statistical Service, there was a drop in oil supplies to ships (-6.8%) as well as in the sales of heavy and light fuel oil (-32.9% each), asphalt (-7.9%) and LPG (- 4.4%). On the contrary, an increase was recorded in the supply of oil to airplanes (3.4%), as well as in the sales of kerosene (21.6%), heating oil (10.4%), motor oil (0.9%) and gasoline (0. 2%).</p>
<p>As for sales from petrol stations, they showed a marginal increase of 0.4% to 56,450 tons.</p>
<p>Station sales of unleaded gasoline totaled 26,794 tonnes, showing a slight annual increase of 0.3%, while diesel sales fell to 22,785, showing a 2.2% decrease. It is noted that the reduced fuel consumption tax rate was terminated at the end of March.</p>
<p>Compared to February 2024, total sales of petroleum products in the month of March 2024 compared to February 2024 decreased by 6.3% .</p>
<p>Indicatively, sales of heating oil (-17.8%) and light fuel oil (-43.0%) decreased, while oil supplies to airplanes (17.8%) and diesel sales increased (10.1%) and gasoline (7.5%). Total petroleum product inventories at the end of March 2024 increased by 9.6% compared to the end of the previous month.</p>
<p>In the period January – March 2024, total petroleum product sales increased by 0.9% compared to with the corresponding period of the previous year.</p>
