The Cyprus Football Federation announces a short-term Architectural Competition for the construction of a Sports Center on a large area of land in Kornos in the province of Larnaca, for the National Teams. The project includes the creation of stadiums with all related facilities, an office building of KOP and other supporting training and hospitality facilities, with a total area of 9540sq.m. and construction cost of the project, ten million euros.
Much of the funding for the project will come from the World Football Association (FIFA) and the European Football Association (UEFA), subject to the strict condition of its completion, within very tight schedules and their full updating on a regular basis at regular intervals. of work. In order to ensure the above strict requirements from the Funders, the KOP invites the interested Architects to express their intention to participate in the Architectural Competition, by submitting a short CV describing their experiences, the projects they have completed and the relevant certificates. as described in Article 9, of the terms of the Tender Notice.
Those who are interested are invited to send the intention to participate and the necessary information as described above to the email address [email protected] no later than Friday, March 5, 2021 at 13:00 p.m. Intention to participate received after the predetermined date and time will not be considered and will not be considered.
The KOP will study all the data that will be submitted on March 16, 2021 at 13.00 p.m. will inform the interested parties who will meet the terms and conditions, as described in Article 9 of the terms of the Tender Notice, to proceed with their participation in the Tender. It is understood that those who will be informed by the KOP that they meet the conditions for participation will be eligible to participate in the Competition.
The National Sports Center will represent the “House of Football in Cyprus” where all players, coaches, referees, etc. will be able to train and be trained. It is equally important that the headquarters of the KOP will be transferred to the National Sports Center, with the result that all those who work and are related to the KOP are concentrated in the same facilities. The facilities will be able to host various types of conferences, seminars and training programs directly related to the KOP, National Teams and football.
The goal is for the Sports Center to host official international games and tournaments, as well as children's championship games. The whole project will be funded mainly by the UEFA Hattrick programs, FIFA Forward, and the Federation itself, while the government has already granted free land in Korno and recently approved the lease of land to the CMO by the Council of Ministers with the commitment to sublet to the KOP for the creation of the Sports Center.
It is noteworthy that the Center will be located in the center of Cyprus. In this way, the KOP is offered the opportunity, not only to expand its services throughout the country, but also to strengthen its communication and interaction with all stakeholders in the field. The National Sports Center will provide high quality training fields for all our National Teams, for matches of all National teams except the National Men as well as facilities for organizing various events and training programs, thus providing the best conditions for development and improving the Federation and football.
The Contracting Authority seeks through the process of the Architectural Tender to ensure the best possible solution of a modern Sports Center, as described in the building program, from spatial, urban, architectural, functional, cultural, environmental, construction, economic, energy and to the award-winning Architect the completion of the study and the implementation of the project.

March 16, 2021 – Information from KOP to those interested whether or not they meet the conditions for participation and start of the Competition.

March 29 – April 5, 2020 – Questions submitted to the KOP by the bidders
6th – 12th of April 2021 – Publication of the answers to the questions of the contestants
June 11, 2021 until 13.00 (at the latest) – Submission of studies based on article 17 of the terms of the tender.
