The TELETHON in collaboration with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestraorganizes as part of its events, a charity concert-tribute to Maria Callas, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth, at the Presidential Palace, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 9:00 p.m.
The event is under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis and the First Lady Ms. Philippas Karseras Christodoulidis, Honorary Patron of the Institute of Neurology & of Cyprus Genetics.
In the gardens of the Presidential Palace, an exquisite repertoire will be presented with the enchanting performances of two internationally renowned soloists, Soprano Alessandra di Giorgio and Tenor Diego Godoy under the artistic direction of Maestro Günter Neuhold. The program will be presented by the soprano and biographer of Maria Callas, Eleni Kanthou.
Maria Callas was the greatest and most popular voice of the lyrical theater and her iconic voice and presence remain to this day a point of reference for artists but and opera lovers who gave her the nickname “La Divina” (the divine).
An evening full of magic with a charitable character, the proceeds of which will be allocated exclusively to TELETHON.
The concert will be preceded by cocktails from 19:30.
