Officials of the Department of Agriculture immediately went to the areas affected by the weather to record all the damage and activate the National Framework to support the affected farmers.
A statement issued by the GTP states that due to the severe weather phenomena observed in recent days, damage was found throughout the free areas of the island, to agricultural crops, mainly citrus fruits, potatoes and vegetables.
“In order to deal with the situation as soon as possible, officials of the Department of Agriculture went immediately to the affected areas to record all the damage and activate the National Framework to support the affected farmers,” he added.
The Ministry of Agriculture assures that “recognizing the problems caused by the intense weather phenomena of recent days, it stands by our rural world and actively supports our farmers and stockbreeders, in order to ensure the viability of their farms.”
