Two new fires broke out on Saturday afternoon with aerial vehicles being thrown into the battle to extinguish the fires.

For extinguishing the fire between the communities of Fikardos and Farmaka, fire brigades from the Fire Service and the Forestry Department responded. In addition, five first-stage aerial vehicles were activated with the prospect of launching the Icarus II project.

Fire in Marathousta community
The fire in the community was brought under control Marathons of the district of Paphos after the response of the Fire Service with 5 fire engines from the city and district of Paphos.
The fire burned six (6) acres of dry grass, wild vegetation, piles of waste materials and a number of trees within the community.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
