On Friday, June 21, the authorities proceeded to arrest two people, aged 40 and 52 respectively, for their involvement in the case of the trapped file that went to the courts of Thessaloniki, as well as in a series of cases of placing explosive devices. strong>
Relevant arrest warrants were pending against them. The 52-year-old was being held in Domokos prisons for drug and robbery cases.
There he met another person involved in the case, from whom he took orders and was in contact with both the inmates and those outside the prison. The 40-year-old is involved in the “hit” on the bank of Petraloni and has previously concerned the authorities for drugs.
At the same time, as part of the coordinated police operation, in Athens and Thessaloniki, searches in their homes, in the presence of judicial officials.
The arrested were taken to the competent prosecutorial authority.
It is recalled that, on February 27, 2024, the Anti-Terrorist Service (D.A.E.E.B.) carried out an organized police operation in Athens and in detention centers in the province to arrest people involved in terrorist attacks.
Five cases have been solved so far, specifically:
- sending a package with explosives to the Thessaloniki Courthouse, which was found on 12-02- 2024,
- explosion of an improvised explosive device in a bank branch in Petralona on 25-01-2024,
- explosion of an improvised explosive device on 13-11-2023 in a building complex in Kifissia, where it is housed company,
- throwing a grenade on 07-08-2023 at a car owned by a prison officer, which was parked in the parking lot of an apartment building in Haidari and
- throwing a grenade and exploding an improvised explosive device on 24 -06-2023 in the yard of a house in Larissa.
