The Police yesterday arrested a 49-year-old resident of a village in the province of Famagusta, in order to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated case of illegal possession, transport and use of explosives materials and causing malicious damage.
Testimony emerged against the 49-year-old during the police examinations regarding damages caused to a glass showcase of a property, in the province of Famagusta, on the night of October 25 to 26, 2022. According to information of the Cyprus Times, the attacker threw the grenade into the building of the community council of Frenaros.
Members of the Police went to the scene, where they carried out examinations. As it was established, the damages were caused by the throwing of a training grenade, which did not explode.
The TAE of Famagusta is investigating the case.
