The rains of the last 48 hours worked beneficially, increasing the total rainfall of October to 20% of normal compared to only 14% that was until the morning of October 29.
According to preliminary data from the Meteorological Department until today at 8:00 in the morning, the total rainfall for the whole of October in free Cyprus is kept low, as it rose to 6.7 millimeters (mm) compared to 32.7 mm, which is the normal for the month based on historical data (1961-1990).
Indicatively, the rainfall in free Cyprus on October 30 amounted to 1.8 millimeters, while on October 31 the rainfall was limited to just 0.1 millimeters.
According to the data, in the 24 hours between October 30 and 31, the rainfall at Larnaca airport reached 14.4 mm, compared to 15.2 mm which is normal for the period, and was by far the largest amount recorded in all stations of free Cyprus.
Thus, the rainfall at the Larnaca airport station until the end of October, reached 80% of the normal for the period, while they follow with a significant difference the Xylotympos station with 63% of the normal and Frenaros which is at 60% of the normal.
The lowest rainfall was recorded at the station at Paphos airport with only 1% of normal, followed by the station at the new port of Limassol with 2% and Saittas with 6%.
