New easing of restrictions against Covid-19 from tomorrow in the occupied territories

New easing of restrictive measures from tomorrow in the occupied areas, as cafes, restaurants, buffets reopen, while the traffic ban at night is still in force between 21.00 -05.00, until March 8.

Some restocking restaurants will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Home deliveries are allowed until 21.00.

Restaurants, cafes, buffets, businesses selling sandwiches or buns only reopen for home delivery or on-demand receipt.

Clothing testing is still prohibited in clothing stores.

On Saturday, March 6, only the food chain stores will be open: supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, pharmacies, gas stations, but also the popular, open-air markets, for which the “highest committee of infectious / communicable diseases” of the “Ministry of Health” issued specific operating rules. Only bakeries, on-duty pharmacies and gas stations will be open on Sundays.

Schools, public and private, will remain in e-learning this week as well, however nurseries that wish to do so may open.

Movement from Nicosia to Kyrenia – areas with the highest incidence – will be allowed, however, from Nicosia and Kyrenia, travel to other “provinces” in the occupied territories will be allowed only with permission from the “provincial administrations”.

Hairdressers and barbershops open on March 4 under specific protocols and by appointment only.

By March 3, all employees of the reactivated companies must have a PCR and be negative and will repeat the test every 15 days.

C / C workers in the free areas will be able to come to work with a negative 72-hour PCR.

The “cabinet” that met yesterday in view of the new relaxations also took decisions on the issue of restructuring loans with commercial banks in the occupied territories, an act in which it called on businessmen and individuals affected by the pandemic to proceed.

According to this decision, the restructuring will be done at the existing interest rate of the loans and no additional fee will be charged by the banks for this.

Theaters and cinemas, concert and exhibition halls, banquet halls, birthday halls, beauty salons, tattoo parlors, swimming pools and gyms, bars, taverns, cafes, casinos, indoor playgrounds, nightclubs, nightclubs are still closed.

Funerals are allowed only in the presence of first degree relatives, memorials and religious services are not allowed. Transportation for shopping should be close to the address of residence of individuals, shops or businesses.
