The Pancypriot Association of Hoteliers (PASYXE) welcomes the decision of the Council of Ministers to approve the Incentive Plan for airlines for the period 2023-2027, co-financed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications & of Projects and the company Hermes Airports Ltd.
As stated in a relevant announcement, the Incentive Plan implemented in the period 2012-2022 contributed decisively to strengthening the connectivity of Cyprus and in the development of air transport and new routes and its importance was particularly highlighted during the pandemic period.
«We are convinced that the new Incentive Plan will contribute to encouraging third country air carriers to operate for travel to the island, achieving the further increase in passenger traffic and the revitalization of tourism in Cyprus, which in the last three years was affected by the pandemic and the war in Ukraine”, he says.
In conclusion, PASYXE congratulates the Ministries of Transport, Communications & of Works and Finance, as well as the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, for the joint submission of the proposal, with the aim of also addressing the new challenges of air transport in the competitive and changing environment that has developed internationally.
