The pensioners are planning a vigorous protest against the government if their problems are not resolved. which, as it notes, has decided to “give the government one last credit of time”, to solve the problems and expects the President of the Republic and the four competent Ministers, to whom he sent a relevant memorandum from last year, to set a meeting in the hope of meeting solutions.

In addition, it states that it plans to hold a Pan-Cypriot Conference on October 3, 2024, while warning that “if until then the problems continue to remain unsolved, then there will also be a dynamic demonstration of pensioners' protest against the government”.

EKYSY demands that measures be taken to deal with punctuality, taking into account that the government's measures to date are temporary and without substantial benefit.

As he states “some of them expire at the end of June, while those that have been renewed, such as the continuation of the electricity subsidy, do not solve the serious problem of the tragically high bills of the EAC that consumers are asked to pay also because of the heat”.

He emphasizes that “significant compensatory benefits must be provided, pensions and the poverty line must be increased, the amount of the benefit granted through the Minimum Guaranteed Income must be increased, cover the serious problem arising from the purchase of medicines not covered by the NHS and to finally make a proposal from the government regarding the requirement to abolish the 12% penalty imposed on the pensions of those who retire after many years of work at the age of 63 of their age”.

Even EKYSY demands the improvement of the legislation on men's widow's pension, so that it is given to all widowers.
