The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, expressed his sadness over the death of George Iliadis in a written statement on Monday.
As President Christodoulidis reports, in addition to a journalist who left his mark, the deceased was throughout his life and “an active citizen, noble and cultured, with morals, possessing all the elements that make up a distinct personality”.
“I had the pleasure of to work, as a young diplomat, with Giorgos Iliadis during his service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to ascertain his excellent character and his virtues”, he adds.
“He honored me with his friendship until the end of his life”, he concludes.
