One of the big bets that Xavi Roca is expected to win this summer at AEK is to replace Kenan Piric. The 30-year-old international Bosnian goalkeeper has been one of the team's most consistent players over the past two years and one of the main pillars on which its leading run in domestic competitions, as well as last year's amazing run in Europe, rested. He was also one of the favorite children on the stage.
The void left by his departure is huge, with the technical director of Larnaca facing the difficult task of finding an equal or even better (if possible) goalkeeper. A particularly difficult mission, however Roca knows the terrain very well, while the fact that this year the administrators have decided, according to information leaked to the press, to increase the budget somewhat, this may help the work of the technical director.
At the moment, Xavi Roca is only looking for Piric's replacement, i.e. for the acquisition of the goalkeeper who will be considered a key player in the new season, considering that behind him there are two Cypriot goalkeepers, the 25-year-old Joakim Toumbas and 26-year-old Andreas Paraskevas, who has been very unlucky in recent years due to serious injuries that led him to surgery twice, however he is now ready to return to competitive action.
Meanwhile, in AEK they wish to keep him on the roster of the team of Rafael López, Pere Pons and Bruno Gama, to whom they have submitted specific proposals for the renewal of their cooperation and the answers of the footballers are expected soon.
