The need to upgrade the port of Kato Paphos is mentioned by the President of the Paphos Coastal Fishing Association, Leonidas Leonidou.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Leonidou said that the professional fishermen are in despair due to the non-execution of important works in the small port of Kato Pafos, causing them to suffer.
He also mentioned the necessity of a new fishing shelter for the docking of the their boats. He noted that the port of Kato Paphos needs upgrading since when there are strong winds in the winter season damage is caused to boats. He also mentioned that an upgrade is required so that they can take their boats ashore for repairs.
In addition, he continued, there is a problem with access to the port of Kato Paphos. In several cases, said Mr. .Leonidou, the professionals cannot find a parking space outside the port.
Therefore, he stressed, the Paphos Coastal Fishing Association will send new letters with the aim of upgrading the fishing shelter.
In the meantime, according to Mr. Leonidou, the Paphos Coastal Fishing Association honors again this year the patron saint of sailors, Agios Nikolaos. The event they are organizing today at 11:00 continued, will take place in Limanaki of Kato Paphos.
