The vaccinations of the staff at the General Hospital of Paphos with the vaccine against the COVID-19 disease have started and continue, according to the Director of the General Hospital of Paphos Dr. Spyros Georgiou, who stated that the vanguard of the Hospital was vaccinated today.

In his statements to KYPE, the Director of the Paphos General Hospital stated that a number of staff members responded to the first vaccination and more vaccines are expected to be given to all the staff of the Paphos state hospital.

He said that the “vanguard” of Paphos Hospital, that is, the First Aid Department, has been vaccinated, some doctors and nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit and ambulances. He concluded that about 20 people had been vaccinated and that vaccinations would continue tomorrow.

Besides, in a written announcement, Dr. Costas Mavromatis, surgeon and Director of the Urology Clinic of the Paphos General Hospital, states that he responded immediately to the committee's call based on the list that has been compiled. We trust science and we are vaccinated, he continued, protecting ourselves, our patients, our friends, and our fellow citizens by helping to stop and eliminate the pandemic. Finally, Dr. Mavromatis congratulated the management of the Hospital and the Infection Committee for the important work they perform.

In the meantime, vaccinations continued today in the nursing homes of Paphos.
