The Producer Price Index in Industry for the month of September 2021 reached 110.5 points (basis 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 0.5% compared to August 2021. Regarding the change compared to the corresponding month of the previous year , there is an increase of 11.5%. For the period January-September 2021, the index increased by 4.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2020.
In September 2021 compared to August 2021 the index remained stable in the sector of mines and quarries, while it recorded an increase in the sectors of water supply and material recovery by 2.4%, processing by 0.4% and electricity supply as well. by 0.4%.
Regarding the changes compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases have been observed in all sectors, as follows: electricity supply 36.3%, water supply and material recovery 32.8%, processing 4.9% and mining and quarries 1.1%.
By manufacturing sector, in September 2021, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in all economic activities, with the most important being presented in the wood industry (26.2%), in the production of basic metals and manufacture of metal products (19, 9%), in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (8.7%) and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (4.0%).
