Total sales of petroleum products reached 110,756 tons in January 2023, a decrease of 1.5% compared to January 2022, according to data announced by the Statistical Service on Thursday.
Specifically, a decrease occurred in oil supplies to ships by 35.7%, as well as in kerosene sales by 42%. Sales of heating oil fell by 31.7%, heavy fuel oil by 25.6% and LPG by 22.1%.
In contrast, an increase was recorded in aircraft oil supplies, by 47.1% , as well as asphalt sales by 26.6%. Gasoline sales increased by 13.4%, light fuel oil by 12.8% and diesel by 6.8%. However, sales from petrol stations showed a decrease of 3.4% to 52,822 tonnes.
Compared to December 2022, in January 2023 total sales of petroleum products fell by 6.3%. Indicatively, sales of motor oil decreased by 13.6% and gasoline by 12.8%, while a marginal increase of 2.3% was recorded in the supply of oil to airplanes.
Total petroleum stocks at the end of January 2023 decreased by 4.1% compared to the end of the previous month.
