Jennifer departed loaded with aid from the United Arab Emirates – The cargo was controlled by Cyprus
The boat Jennifer loaded with humanitarian aid left tonight from the port of Larnaca.
This is humanitarian aid given by the United Arab Emirates, as mentioned in a previous publication of the Cyprus Times.
As already mentioned, the cargo was controlled from Cyprus with a final destination of Gaza.
Also, in a statement earlier today, the Federation of Employers & of Industry (OEB) appealed to Cypriot businesses to donate basic food items after receiving information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a humanitarian aid mission by sea to the civilian population of Gaza is being prepared, through the Amalthia Project.
“In this context, an appeal is made to Cypriot businesses to donate basic food (e.g. dry food, rice, pasta, etc.) and perishable medicines,” the OEB announcement states.

“The aid should be delivered on Monday, April 29 at the port of Larnaca. If a company/supplier is unable to deliver on Monday, it will exceptionally be able to deliver on Tuesday morning at the latest,” it added.
“The participation and contribution of Cyprus in this international humanitarian operation carried out through the Amalthia Project, is of great political importance for our country and I thank you in advance for the sensitivity you show in this matter”, OEB notes in its announcement.
