More than 7,000 Greek Cypriots have so far submitted an application to the “real estate commission”, claimed the pseudo-state's “ambassador” in Ankara, Ismet Korukoglu. He also mentioned that the US has recently abandoned the policy of balances and is studying moves in favor of the Greeks of the island.
In his statements in Anadolu, Ismen Korukoglu said that there had been negotiations in the past for different models for the island , “but we've all found that those didn't work.” He added that “we have now realized that negotiations cannot be conducted with old formulasand non-returnable parameters. First of all, equality of sovereignty and the equal international status of the PRC must be recognized. The tdvk must take the place it deserves in the international community. This is the best solution that can be found in Cyprus”.
Referring to the opening of Varosia, Ismet Korukoglu claimed that “the closed Varosia is a piece of land under the rule of the tdvk and the government of the tdvk makes the decisions about the closed Varosia”. As he claimed, “more than 7,000 Greek Cypriots have so far submitted an application to the real estate commission in the tdvc”.
Referring to the lifting of the embargo armsfrom the US to the Republic of Cyprus, Ismet Korukoglu made the claim that “the Y/C side is increasing its armaments budget day by day. They buy attack helicopters from different countries. They announce that they will buy missile systems. They set up almost 300 heavy weapons positions along the border on the island. The lifting of the arms embargo from the US to the Assad government is not a good development. It is obvious that it will increase tensions and cause an arms race. Of course, the tdvk together with Turkey are evaluating what they will do in response. Minister Cavusoglu made a correct statement about this some time ago. We will protect our rights and interests, we will do it together with motherland Turkey, to protect our security”.
