“We should all work together so that this reform, which has a long-term goal of better serving the citizens, succeeds,” the president emphasized
The Government will be < strong>next to the new lords of the Local Government in order for this important reform to succeed, said on Sunday, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis, in his statements on the sidelines of the opening of the exhibition of the engraver Hampi Tsangaris entitled “The Cyprus of Hampi” in Platres.
Asked about the new day that dawns on Monday with the implementation of the Local Government reform, President Christodoulidis said that “it is a very important day” adding that “we did everything possible to support this great effort. We must be honest, it will not be an easy effort”.
The President indicated that “major changes create problems, challenges and in general as a society we do not we are so receptive to changes” noting that “we should all cooperate so that this reform succeeds, which has the long-term goal of serving the citizens better”.
“We as the Government will be next to the new rulers of the Local Government to support them. We are clearly giving more powers to Local Government, as is the general trend at the European level, and we will be by their side to make this important reform a success”, concluded President Christodoulidis.
