Andreas Papacharalambous resigned as chairman of the Ethics Committee for Sports.
Information from politis.com.cy states that Mr. Papacharalambous during his visit to the Presidential Palace where he had a meeting with Nikos Anastasiadis had mentioned his intention. He finally did it today by sending a letter to both President Anastasiadis and the media.
In his letter, he explains the reasons that pushed him to this decision and emphasizes that there are serious weaknesses in the Law and lack of Regulations. He added that the Commission informed the parties about this without doing anything. At the same time, he states, among other things, that politicians give “backs” to sports agents.
According to information, the intention of the President is the immediate replacement of Mr. Papacharalambous as investigations of the Commission are ongoing.
