A significant number of new equipment programs are in the final stages of implementation, the Commander of the Air Command of the National Guard, Brigadier General Marios Floridis, said on Tuesday.
He was speaking during a modest ceremony, due to the graduation of the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos, for the feast of the Archangel Michael, at the Paphos “Andreas Papandreou” air base.
In the order of the day, the Commander of the Air Command of the National Guard Brigadier General Marios Floridis stated that as Air Command we have full responsibility for the planning for both the present and the future of the Cypriot air force, in the context of the defense planning of the General Staff of the National Guard.
By completing this year the planned procedures for the restructuring of the Air Command structures we succeeded, he said, “the objective which was none other than the implementation of the defense planning which will provide directly and for the near future the increasing the operational effectiveness of the weapon”.
