The General Assembly of the AEL union took place on Thursday night at “St. George” in Limassol, in the presence of more than 200 members.
Konstantinos Constantinou and his council received the green light from the body of the Assembly to take over the reins of the union, while the account of the outgoing President Nikos Christodoulidis.

The speech of Kostas Constantinos: “Dear members of the Board of Directors, Honorable members of the Association, Dear friends,
It is a great honor and pleasure for me to welcome to our General Assembly today, as we take up the baton of responsibility in this new phase of our Association.
First of all, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the outgoing Board of Directors for their dedication and contribution over the years. Their work and efforts can only be an inspiration to us as a new Board of Directors.
Having assumed the leadership of the Association, and being fully aware of the situation before us, we cannot but put with the aim of promoting our Association towards a new era, that of growth and success, focused on a few key goals that will shape the future of the Limassol Sports Union:
First, the reorganization of the entire operating mechanism of our Association. It is necessary to create an operating environment that is more effective and efficient so that we can meet the demands and challenges of modern sport. The fundamental reorganization will allow us to evolve our structures and processes, adapting them to the standards of leading European clubs. This includes upgrading the management structure, improving the management of departments and resources, as well as implementing modern methods and technologies in all areas of our operation. Only in this way can we create a more dynamic and competitive Association that will be able to face the challenges of the future and achieve its goals.
Second, the proper management of our departments is fundamental to the success and sustainability of our Association. Especially the Marketing Department, emerges as one of the most important tools in the field of sports, as it can significantly affect our financial performance and growth. A well-staffed Marketing Department, with a clear plan and strategy, is the key to achieving our financial goals and the recovery of our Association. Through the development of partnerships, the creation of promotions and the effective promotion of the “AEL” brand, we can strengthen our presence in the market and increase our revenues. In addition, the implementation of marketing strategies will help to increase revenue from sponsorships-advertisements and also to attract interested parties who would like to invest in our Association. With a specific plan and targeted strategy, the Marketing Department can significantly contribute to the financial well-being and development of our Association.
Thirdly, organizing and upgrading our football department to professional levels is a priority for us as we seek to create a high quality product that will allow us to make the next leap to the top. Hiring a professional Technical Director is key to the growth and success of our football department. The cooperation between the Technical Director of the first football team and the General Manager of the academy is a key pillar for the development and success of our football department. The first team Technical Director offers his experience and expertise to develop our footballers to a high performance level. With his trust and guidance, our footballers will develop not only on a technical level, but also on an intellectual and psychological level, bridging the gap between young talents and the first team.
We are also required to maintain the autonomy and integrity of our board, coaches, etc. without any outside interference. Autonomy and integrity are foundations for the success and stability of our Association. Therefore, we highlight our commitment to protect this autonomy and integrity, encouraging the independence of the entire operating mechanism of AEL, so that they continue to operate with determination and professionalism for the benefit of our Association, its members and the world.
At the same time, it is important that all sections of the Association unite under the same umbrella, in order to achieve our common goals. Every department, regardless of sport or activity, is an important part of the Association and contributes to our well-being and success. With the cooperation and coordination of the departments, we can achieve our common goals with greater efficiency and determination.
At this point I want to call on each of us to stand by the team, protecting the from every kind of adversity.
The people of AEL have learned through the hard times to keep the Union's flag high and this should continue to be done, always within the framework of the principles and values that govern the Limassol Athletic Union since its foundation, whether he is called SYFAEL or President, either a member or a follower. ALL of us stand as a shield in our Union.
Finally, regarding discussions with potential investors, there is nothing to announce at this time. If and when there is anything, you will be informed accordingly. Based on these goals and our commitments, I am confident that we can shape a bright future for our Association. With your cooperation and dedication, we hope to make every ELISTA's dream come true.

The speech of Nikos Christodoulidis: “Good evening everyone, Welcome to the Electoral Assembly of the Limassol Sports Union and thank you for your presence. Tonight marks the end of a two-year journey for our Board of Directors, a difficult journey through which I believe we have paved the way for better days to come for our Association.
And I am sure that better days will come. . We laid the foundations for our Association to turn the page, to restore transparency, health and democratic procedures as provided for in the statute. AEL belongs to everyone, it belongs to the many and the future of the Association is decided by the members of the General Assembly and the world of AEL.
We fought hard to bring this right back to AELISTA and that makes us proud. We took stock of our tenure at the previous meeting and I personally explained in my announcement the reasons that prompted me not to re-claim a position on the Board of Directors. And I don't want to repeat myself tonight. I want to wish every success to the new Board of Directors, to all the members and especially to the new President, my friend, Konstantinos Constantinou. Dear Konstantinos, I wish you from the bottom of my heart every success in your difficult task. I do not remember another President of AEL being here on this floor of the General Assembly and wholeheartedly wishing the next President good success.
I consider this to be very important, as at this moment we need the Unity of all the forces of AEL to move forward. This is how I learned from a young age to support my Association, this is what I will continue to do. With a clear conscience for what I offered in these two years of the Presidency but also what I have offered in the last decades, both me and my family and in Football, and in the Association and in many Departments.
I want to I would like to thank again all the Members of the Board of Directors for their support and help, the members of the General Assembly for their trust, the staff of AEL who helped us significantly to carry out our work, all the sponsors and friends who they supported.
