19:37 – New update from the press representativeof the Fire Service, Andreas Ketti, in relation to the situation in Anogyra, states that “The fire is manageable and controlled by the firefighting forces, but there is a serious possibility of new flare-ups. It burned a total area of about 1 1/2 square kilometers of dry grasses, wild vegetation and carob trees. There are outbreaks in very inaccessible places and an attempt will be made to approach and extinguish them by the ground forces throughout the night. Both the Provincial of Limassol and the Archpriest P.Y. are at the fire for the necessary coordination”.

18:08 – A few minutesago, the press representative of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, posted on Twitter/X that there is “a rekindling of the fire (in Anogyra, Limassol) with a serious front developing. Reconstruction of forces to deal with it”. He added that “ground forces are being reinforced from other Provinces (Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos)”.

In the meantime, Mr. Kettis also informed about “New fire despite the Trimiklini Community. Ground and air forces are responding. A new update will follow when there is valid information.” “We responded to the fire in question with three fire engines and several forces from the Forestry Department. Also, as mentioned, aerial means were promoted. The fire has been operationally taken over by the Forestry Department,” adds the Fire Department's press representative.

16:36 – According to Andreas Ketti's most recent post, the situation in the Anogyra fire is clearly better. There is currently no active front. Aerial assets have been reduced in the firefighting operation and we have descended on IKAROS I. A super effort is being made by both ground and air forces for full containment. There is a serious risk of flare-ups and all firefighting forces remain on standby for possible response.
