The Council of Ministers, on Wednesday, approved the inclusion of beekeepers who are permanent residents of the communities affected by the devastating Arakapa fire, among the beneficiaries of the "Tree Planting Program, aimed at Combating Climate Change" Change».

As stated in a Ministerial announcement, the proposal was approved following a proposal by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou,

According to the said Program, it is approved on an annual basis , the free allocation of seedlings from the Forestry Department nurseries to specific bodies and organized groups for the purposes of implementing tree planting programs.

The objective of the Council of Ministers Decision is to restore the vegetation of the affected communities as quickly as possible, but and the support of beekeepers active in the said areas to deal with the consequences of the catastrophic Arakapa fire.

Each beneficiary beekeeper will be able to claim up to three 3 beekeeping plants of the Cypriot flora per hive for free, with a maximum number of three hundred plants per beekeeper.
