Archbishop / Covid19: Trust the Doctors - I was contacted by people who were negatively influenced by people in the Church

Archbishop Chrysostom expressed his regret, because as he said, the last day of this year is painful for our people, since, where we waited for a recession in the pandemic that has plagued us for 2 years, however, we observe an outbreak.

He was speaking after the performance of the New Year carols by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Police and the National Guard at the Archdiocese.

“This disease is not going to go away completely. It will remain, as a disease like the rest, for the treatment of which there will be cheap medicines.

Unfortunately, many have contacted me in recent days, who have also been influenced by people of ours, I mean the Church. My advice to them is to trust their doctors, as they do for other diseases. We all need to be responsible people, to take care of ourselves and our fellow human beings. If the parents get sick, what will happen to the children? If the soldiers get sick, who will take care of the homeland? “And all this has spiritual implications,” he added.

As mentioned in an announcement, His Beatitude, accompanied by the Theophilestatos Bishops of Karpasia Christoforos, Neapoleos Porphyrios and Mesaoria Gregorios, and Archim. Ioannis Ioannou, Protosyggellos of the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, attended with great pleasure the excellent performance of traditional hymns and carols by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Police and the National Guard.

His Beatitude thanked the Philharmonic Orchestra for the performance of the carols and wished everyone a constructive new year, a fact that always depends on ourselves.

The Great King, who we will celebrate, said His Beatitude, loved man, the image of God, and with great care served him and protected him responsibly. But the great Apostle Paul, he continued, always had with him the Evangelist Luke, who was a physician, because he respected and recognized science.

“I wish from the bottom of my heart that better days dawn for our homeland, for our people, and that the coveted liberation of our occupied homeland is achieved,” he added.

The choir of the National Guard, at the urging of His Beatitude, sang the traditional Cypriot song “the shepherd”.
