The Archbishop of Cyprus Georgios, known as Georgios Papachrystomou, was born on May 25, 1949 in Athienou.
On December 24, 2022, he was elected Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and all of Cyprus under the Holy Synod, while his enthronement took place on January 8 at the Cathedral of the Apostle Barnabas.
