A 28-year-old man was arrested today by members of the Police, in connection with an investigated case of theft of money amounting to 39,700 euros, as well as a case of issuing bank checks without consideration. The 28-year-old was taken into custody, with the Limassol TAE investigating.
According to a complaint submitted to the Police yesterday, 56-year-old and 28-year-old, between the months of January and July, 2021, the two agreed with the 28-year-old suspect, as he imports from England, four cars worth a total of 40 thousand euros. For the purchase of one of the four vehicles, the 28-year-old paid the suspect by transferring to his bank account, the amount of 15,900 euros, while the 56-year-old paid the 28-year-old the amount of 23,800 euros in cash, in return for payment, for purchase of the other three vehicles, however the suspect did not hand over any vehicle to them, citing various allegations and pretexts as an excuse, while he did not present to the two complainants any evidence of the purchase and import of the four vehicles in Cyprus.
After the 56-year-old and the 28-year-old asked for explanations from the 28-year-old suspect, on December 29, 2021, the suspect issued two bank checks to the 28-year-old, to return her money, however one check could not be deposited for redemption. errors, while according to the bank where the 28-year-old deposited the second check, her issuer's bank account was frozen and the check could not be redeemed.
