Cyprus Eating Awards 2022: These are the big winners of the 18th award

The Cyprus Eating Awards, the largest culinary institution in Cyprus, which for 18 years has been rewarding and highlighting the best in gastronomy, were awarded for’ one more year. The award ceremony was organized again this year by Check In, following international standards and rewarding the efforts of those who are not complacent and tirelessly provide high quality and continuous improvement of their services.

The Cyprus Best Restaurants Awards 2022 took place in all its splendor on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the spectacular Parklane Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol of the Mediterranean Hospitality Venture Group. The evening's culinary creations were curated by the 3-star Michelin and LPM Restaurant & Bar’s Global Executive chef Andriano Cattaneo.

The institution was presented again this year by Nespresso and supported by the Bank of Cyprus. The event was held under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Savvas Perdio.

The presenters of the evening were Louis Patsalidis and Giota Damianou, while the guests were musically accompanied by the unique Elli Kokkinou, performing hits that we all love.

Both restaurants and Check In readers, why’ yet another year, they embraced the initiative, showing strong interest and supporting their favorite restaurants with their vote. Specifically, 88,325 votes were counted, a number that shows the practical love of the world for the awards.

Fresh baguette accompanies the chef's dishes.

Dishes are accompanied by Acqua Panna natural mineral water and S. Pellegrino carbonated natural mineral water.

With entries from 96 restaurants, awards were presented in 18 categories:

New Arrival, Fish, Tavern, Souvlaki, Mediterranean Cuisine, Greek Cuisine, International Cuisine, Asian Cuisine, Hotel Restaurant-Mediterranean Cuisine, Hotel Restaurant-Asian Cuisine, Hotel Restaurant-International Cuisine, Beach Bar/Restaurant, Nice Price, Bar/Restaurant, Lounge Bar-Resto, Grill Bar/Pub, Delivery – Pizza, Check In Special Award 2022 which this year awarded the best Ofto.

Like every year, this year too, the restaurant that collected the most votes from Check In readers as a "Readers Favorite" and was independent of any categorization.

Honorary awards were given for Cypriot Product of the Year, as well as Sustainability in focus. The Chef of the Year, the restaurant with the Best Concept and the one with the Best Wine Culture were also awarded. Finally, the International Longevity Award was given, as well as Overall Contribution to Catering.
