In a voluntary blood donation and bone marrow sampling, which took place at the Synod of the Metropolis of Tamasos in the Episcopio, the Metropolitan of Tamasos and Orenis Isaias participated.

According to a relevant announcement from the Diocese, Mr. Isaias participated in yet another act of love that took place in the Synod of the Diocese, which included cutting hair/braids from the children of B’ Technical School of Nicosia, to help and support children who are losing their hair from the battle with cancer.

In his statement in the context of the event, Metropolitan Isaias commented on the large turnout of volunteer blood donors, clergy and laity, which he described as touching, as they took a little time from their jobs and responded to the call of their Metropolitan.

«By participating in blood donation and bone marrow sampling, Christians practically show their love and respect for human life. Here today, on the bed of the blood donor and giving a sample for bone marrow, we carry out in the most genuine and authentic way “Love one another””, he added.

Mr. Isaias also invited all Christians of the Metropolis to participate in similar activities wherever and whenever they can, thus making a supreme act of love, offering and sacrifice for fellow human beings.

This altruistic activity was initiated by the Metropolis of Tamasos and the support of the blood center of the Ministry of Health and the Karaiskakei Foundation, while B’ TESEK of Nicosia cut hair free of charge for volunteers, who donated their hair to fellow cancer sufferers who lost theirs, the announcement concludes.
