In his statements to KYPE, the Communication Adviser to the Minister of Health, Konstantinos Athanasiou, stated that “the Minister made an effort to find a compromise solution”, adding that “the consultation is ongoing and in the next few days the doctors will decide whether to proceed with the strike”.
For his part, the President of the Pan-Cyprus Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) Sotiris Koumas told KYPE that the Minister submitted a proposal to mediate after being informed at the meeting.
The proposal, he continued, will be submitted tomorrow to be examined by the Board of the Syntechnia, noting that “we must credit the Minister for his effort”. proposal.
For the reasons for the declared three-hour strike, he said that it was decided “because there is no transparency, about what our professional insurance is when practicing the medical profession s, as the law also provides”.
