Dimitris Lignadis is in custody after the issuance of a relevant warrant
A prosecutor and an investigator ruled after the testimonies that the well-known actor and director should be arrested.
A few hours earlier, Dimitris Lignadis had voluntarily visited the General Police Directorate of Attica with his lawyer, but until then no warrant had been issued, according to a statement by him and his lawyer.
The warrant concerns serial rape under Article 336 of the Criminal Code, Articles 1, 2 and 3 and he has been prosecuted for this offense.
The prosecutor's office proceeded to issue a warrant after a number of testimonies which “tie” the crime.
The minor refugee children
All this at a time when new revelations have caused disgust in the case of Dimitris Lignadis, through testimonies from neighbors involving at least three structures of minor refugees attending classes at his theater, but many refugee children are reportedly refusing to go there again.
What did the report reveal? According to the testimonies of the neighbors, “this man was visited by minors”, according to the editor of the newspaper “Ta Nea”, Vassilis Lambropoulos, who referred to testimonies from neighbors of the famous director who lived in the center of Athens, in the Square Karaiskaki. There, as they reported, the specific director received visits from minors.
According to locals, when asked about the visits of minors, the director stated that he had participated voluntarily in a theater course for foreigners.
Following an investigation into the neighbors' claim, it was found – according to police sources – that at least three structures of minor refugees through a social worker, had closed classes in the director's theater. 3-4 unaccompanied children went from each structure and attended the theatrical lessons during the period 2017-2018.
After contacting the institutions, it was found that many children refused to go to the theater again, without however revealing why their refusal was so categorical. The information states that many of those children now live in France.
