The efforts of the Association of Owners of Leisure Centers of Paphos for the fastest possible normalization of the operation of the industry after the successive padlocks of the last year, goes through the increasing tourist flow in June. This is pointed out by industry representatives in Paphos, who note that the situation in the restaurant after a year of successive padlocks and restarts is literally marginal and any new obstacle will mean their gravestone.
The latest lockdown, they said, made it even more obvious that finally, for the first time in decades, a significant number of companies in the industry will remain closed during the summer. Many entrepreneurs estimate that the operating costs for their reactivation in relation to the expected reduced arrival of tourists this year and the delay in the massive tourist flow to the island, cast doubt on the usefulness of their reactivation.
For this reason, they observed, it is now crucial that this restart with the new month proceeds with the smoothest possible conditions in all sectors, economic, social and health, in order to avoid the slightest new shock that will cause the collapse of the whole edifice. That is why the catering industry attaches great importance to the “release” of British tourists from the consequences of the orange categorization of Cyprus, in order for the tourist flow to the island to become remarkable from the month starting tomorrow.
