Around 300 new mature trees will be planted on Makariou Avenue in Nicosia, since after permission from the Forest Department, a total of 65 trees have been removed or will be removed and 17 will be transplanted, according to an announcement by the Municipality of Nicosia.

The new trees that will be planted will have a height of more than 4 meters and in the selection of their species, elements of “bioclimatic behavior”, the shading they offer, etc. have been taken into account. and their planting is based on a uniform and modern design that allows the placement of utilities while at the same time integrating them into the urban space in a way that not only does not impede, but instead facilitates the accessibility of pedestrians and the disabled, contributing to the separation of space pedestrians from the vehicle crossing, the announcement concludes.
