Tension prevailed in the center of Thessaloniki, at the end of a march by anti-authoritarian groups, in protest of the police operations to evacuate the squatters in the building of the Biology Department of the School of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Pharmacology Laboratory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The participants in the march gathered in Kamaras square and after two in the afternoon they marched in the center of the city, on Egnatia, Tsimiski, Ionos Dragoumi, Agios Dimitrios and Iasonidou streets, shouting slogans in favor of the squatters.
The police measures in the center of Thessaloniki were draconian, an EL.AS helicopter. carried out continuous flights and police forces created a barrier with vehicles in Egnatia, in the area around the Fountain, in order not to move towards the AUTh.
At the end of the march in the area of Kamara, protesters threw objects and Molotov cocktails at the police, who pushed them away and incidents spread to the surrounding streets. Police made more than twenty arrests.
Strong police forces continue to guard the city center.
