Systematic inspections and spraying to combat mosquitoes throughout the city, by the crews of the Municipal Health Service, continue in Larnaca.

In a statement from the Municipality of Larnaca, it is stated that “recently, the areas of Alykes at Spyros Beach, the old airport, Tekke, Faneromeni Avenue, Kamara, the old Shooting Range and the areas of Vergina and the Refineries were sprayed. The fight against mosquitoes is now also going on inside the city (parts rain grates, open canals, closed swimming pools, excavations with stagnant water, etc.)”.

Additionally, workshop of the Health Service of the Ministry of Health continues the campaign in the city, from door to door, to fight the Aedes aegypti mosquito and inform the public.

The Municipality of Larnaca invites citizens such as, “after the recent rains, to empty the water retained by any objects or spaces in their houses/properties. It is reiterated that mosquitoes can lay their eggs in a minimal amount of water and affect an entire area when they hatch.”

For any information/complaints citizens can contact Complaints Office of the Municipality of Larnaca, on phone 24816530 or the Health Service, on phones 24816557/559.
