US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today that President Joe Biden had no plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin amid escalating tensions over the gathering of Russian forces on the border with Ukraine.
“I think we should first see if there is any progress at the diplomatic level,” he said when asked by reporters if a summit could be convened in a bid to lower the tone.
“We also want to see Russia de-escalate (the situation), move its forces across the border with Ukraine, reduce tensions,” he added.
