The Minister of Labor stated on the news DISTRIBUTION program that the goal is to close this chapter by the end of the year.
The actuarial study in relation to the differentiation, for palliative intervention, of the actuarial adjustment of 12% of retirement at the age of 63 will be presented next Friday, at the session of the Council of the Social Insurance Fund (TKA). This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Yiannis Panagiotou, on SPOR FM and the DIASPORA IDISSEON program, stressing that the goal is until the end of the year, after the dialogue with the social partners has been completed and a bill has been prepared that will be presented to the Cabinet and will go to the Parliament to vote, to close the specific chapter.
According to Mr. Panagiotou, based on the actuarial study that was done, the Government is oriented towards the relief of workers who have completed many years of work and by extension many years contributions to the Social Insurance Fund, without the actuarial adjustment of 12% being abolished horizontally.
He noted that today, although the retirement limit is 65 years of age, workers who have completed at least 33 years of work and contributions they can retire at age 63, but with the actuarial reduction of 12%. Therefore, the relief measures, which also aim at the complete abolition of the penalty for those who have worked and contributed many years to TKA, will benefit people who have worked for more than 33 years.
